A fun guide for kid entrepreneurs (with a little help from your grown-ups!)

Welcome to the Lemonade Lane Kids Market Marketing Challenge!

Let’s walk through the challenge together!

What Is Marketing?

Marketing is just a fancy word for telling people about your business.

Every time you:

  • Invite someone to your booth,

  • Practice talking about your items

  • Make a sign

  • Or share what you're making…

…you’re doing marketing!

And every great business owner (that’s you!) practices this skill.

The 7 Steps of Your Marketing Challenge

Complete any of the 7 marketing actions items and earn one prize entry for each one you finish. You will let the Lemonade Lane team know the number of completed steps at check-in (Up to 7 entries! Honor system).

Invite 5 People to Shop Your Booth

You have the option to use your Lemonade Lane Bingo Card to invite neighbors, friends, family, teachers, teammates—anyone who might love what you’re making.

Why? This helps you get your very first customers excited before market day!

Practice What You Will Say at Your Booth

Use the Lemonade Lane booth sales scripts on your checklist to help you get started.
You can practice in a mirror or with a family member.

Why? This helps you feel confident and ready for shoppers.

Post a Photo or Video of Your Business

Ask your adult to post it on their social media.

Ideas of what to post:

  • You working on your products,

  • Your materials,

  • Your booth plan,

  • Or even a sneak peek of your favorite item.

Be sure to add a call to action on the post -for example- this could be come shop on December 13th.

Why? This helps potential shoppers get a behind the scenes look of your business and learn more.

Practice Taking Payment

Have a parent help you practice how you’ll accept money.

Pro tip: setting up Venmo or something similar is ideal because most people won’t have cash.

Make a “How You Can Pay” Sign

You can draw, paint, or print it—whatever fits your style.

Just make sure shoppers know how they can pay:

  • Venmo?

  • Card?

  • Something else?

Why? Signs make your booth easy to shop at.

Draw Your Booth Plan

Sketch your dream setup!
Where will your items go?
Where will your sign go?
How will customers see your featured product?

Why? This is your chance to plan ahead. Every great business owner knows that planning is key!

Your Choice! Pick One of These:

(Choose the one that fits your business best.)

  • Make price tags or a menu/list of items

  • Feature an item that can match the market theme (holiday, stocking stuffers, winter theme etc.)

  • Hand out a flyer (this can be one you draw, print or whatever you choose- parents 1 flyer counts!)

  • Create a sign with your business name

BONUS: Come up with your own creative marketing idea!

How to Use the Challenge

  1. Work through the items one by one at home.

  2. Tell the Lemonade Lane team how many steps you finished at check-in.

  3. Earn up to 7 prize entries!

This is meant to be stress-free, fun and something you can do together with your grown-ups.
